'Developing Optimal and Open Research Support' for the Black Sea (DOORS), a new EU research project linking science, policy and industry for critical Black Sea regeneration, held its first major in-person General Assembly meeting, hosted by Burgas Free University in Bulgaria, from 7-9 June 2022. EMBRC's Executive Director and Scientific Officer and Project Manager attended the event. The project promises to be a great opportunity for the Black Sea region.

EMBRC is involved in DOORS for the harmonisation of methodologies for sampling, measurement, analysis and modelling, taking into account best practices. EMBRC will also be supporting the sustainable development of businesses underpinning Black Sea Blue Growth (BG) as well as developing formal and informal learning, education, training and use of knowledge and technologies. EMBRC will further participate in the promotion of stakeholder dialogue and co-design towards sustainable and effective support to the Black Sea research and innovation partnerships through the implementation of the Black Sea Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
