Access and Benefit Sharing

EBB (EMBRC Blue Biobank) facilitates sustainable access to marine biodiversity, its associated data, and extractable products for local and international academia and industry users. The project also suports biodiversity conservation in coastal ecosystems by promoting Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) regulations derived from the Nagoya Protocol.
EMBRC promoted ABS regulations compliance in this project by establishing—through itsABS WorkingGroup—astep-by-step guide ‘Seek, keep & transfer: A step-by-step guide to ABS compliance when utilizing marine genetic resources’, for scientistsfrom academia and industry conducting research on marine genetic resources.
