
EMBRC Governance
General Assembly
EMBRC is a governed by a General Assembly (GA) responsible for making decisions about the organisation’s strategy, governance, and scientific development. The GA includes two representatives from each EMBRC member country.




















Executive Director & Secretariat
The Executive Director is the executive and legal representative of EMBRC. He leads EMBRC’s Secretariat, based at Sorbonne University in Paris (France), which is responsible for the organisation’s

Committee of Nodes
EMBRC’s Liaison Officers and Marine Stations are supervised by a Committee of Nodes, which acts as a link between EMBRC headquarters and the national partners, ensuring that decisions made by the GA are implemented at national level. It also provides advice on development and technical issues.
The Committe of Nodes gathers representatives of EMBRC‘s country members that provide advice on development and technical issues and ensures decisions made by the GA are implemented at national level.












Science and Innovation Advisory Board
The Science and Innovation Advisory Board is composed of academia and industry experts who have been elected by the General Assembly to advise EMBRC on strategic matters




EMO BON Operational Committee
European Marine Omics Biodiversity Observation Network (EMO BON) is the first centrally coordinated, long-term omics biodiversity observatory in Europe, and it aims to enhance the European contribution to global genomic observation efforts. As such, it will fill current gaps in biological observation, while offering insights into the genetic composition of marine biodiversity.
