JOB OPPORTUNITY AT THE STATION BIOLOGIQUE DE ROSCOFF 

Located on the Brittany coast of the Channel, the Station Biologique de Roscoff is a world-renowned research and training center in marine Biology and Ecology, with circa 350 staff on a 20,000 m2 campus, jointly operated by the Pierre & Marie Curie University (UPMC) and French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).

 

Scientific and Technical Manager of the European Project EMBRIC

European Marine Biological Research Infrastructure Cluster

to promote the Blue Bioeconomy

 

Context: The EMBRIC (H2020-INFRADEV) project links biological and social science research infrastructures (EMBRC, MIRRI, EU-OPENSCREEN, ELIXIR, AQUAEXCEL, RISIS) to build inter-connectivity along three dimensions (science, industry, regions) in order to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery and innovation in marine biotechnologies. The project coordinator, the Director of the Station Biologique de Roscoff, is seeking a coordination assistant.

Functions: Assist the project coordinator in the scientific supervision of EMBRIC. Contribute to the creation of a community of practice in technology transfer among different European research infrastructures and to the socioeconomic impact study of the project.

Location: Roscoff (Brittany, France) and Paris

Duration: 48 months

 

Missions:

 1- In close interaction with the project coordinator (responsible for WP1 – Management and Communication) and with the project manager ensure the scientific coordination of EMBRIC and contribute to its sustainability:

          - Monitor the global performance of the project and its progression with regards to milestones and contribute to manage the scientific   
            coordination risks.

          - Contribute to the critical assessment of the project by analyzing its impact on the defragmentation of science, industry, and  
            regional policies in research and innovation

          - Monitor the scientific achievement of the different WPs and evaluate deliverables.

          - Contribute to the reporting activity towards the European Commission and to the organization of project meetings.

          - Assist the partners in the implementation of the recommendations issued by the Commission and the reviewers.

          - Contribute to the production of an evaluation paper on the usefulness of research infrastructures and research clusters to foster   
            blue bio-economy in Europe.

          - Liaise with EMBRC activities.

 

2- In close interaction with the leader of WP5 (Mobilizing research infrastructures to foster blue biotechnology ecosystems in maritime regions), contribute to build a community of practice in technology transfer (TT) across the different research infrastructures involved in EMBRIC:

          - Coordinate the analysis of the different TT practices.

          - Coordinate the set-up of “TT one-stop shops”.

          - Coordinate the creation of a network of TT officers.
