HCMR co-organizes and hosts 18th workshop of the Genomic Standards Consortium

The Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture (IMBBC) of the HCMR is jointly organizing with the Genomics Standards Consortium (GSC) and the 18th Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC 18) Meeting. 
The conference will be held in Crete at the HCMR on June 12-15, 2016.

    Nicky Mulder Standards Initiatives in H3ABioNet
    Phil Hugenholtz: Genomic Taxonomy, from Genus to Domain.
    Christos Ouzounis: Microbial Ecology in Greece and Bioinformatics
    Daniele Daffonchio: Extreme Environments and Microorganisms

The GSC 18 will include several sessions, such as: Standards (global to local); Pathogen, plant, UNEP standards; Air, Sea and Soil Monitoring Projects; Microbial Ecology of Greece; Marine Biodiversity, Ocean Sampling; Subway, Wine and Soil Microbiomes; Nagoya Protocol, Ethics, and Standards; and, Outreach and Education. 
Each session will have a working group which would meet during the workshop and the chair of each session will summarise the conclusions of the working group during the workshop. More details on the conference website.
