“Genomics for a blue Economy” Workshop in Naples, IT

Don't miss your chance to attend the workshop on “Genomics for a blue Economy” - Cutting-Edge Technologies in Marine Natural Products Discovery that will be held at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Napoli, Italy, on December 11 and 12, 2019.

EMBRC would like to introduce the upcoming workshop “Genomics for a blue Economy” - Cutting-Edge Technologies in Marine Natural Products Discovery that will be held at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, Napoli, Italy, on December 11 and 12, 2019.

The workshop aims to identify the state-of-the-art of methods, potential challenges, and future directions in the characterization of marine natural compounds and their applications as biotechnological and pharmaceutical products using innovative and eco-sustainable approaches.

Topics that will be addressed include bioinformatics and genomic tools available for genome mining for identification of marine secondary metabolite genes and clusters; marine secondary metabolite characterizations through coupling integrative genomics with other methods like RNA-Seq, metabolomics and proteomics; novel approaches to unlock the expression of silent marine secondary metabolites, including co-culturing techniques; cutting-edge technologies in genome editing and novel metabolites identification; development and application of heterologous systems for the expression of biosynthetic genes and clusters.

You can find the preliminary programme at https://www.gbe-workshop.com/

The participation is limited to 70 applicants and will be free of charge.

Registration deadline: 30 November

Abstract Submission (oral/poster presentation): 15 November
